Taking sides…

Why do I have to take a side in the Chick Fil-A thing? Seriously?

I don’t consider myself an activist in any way whatsoever. I have people telling me I need to boycott the chicken restaurant on one side, and friends sending me invites to Chick Fil-A Appreciation Day on Facebook on the other. There are people on both sides telling me that if I do something, it’s only because I’m on a certain side of the argument.

Seriously, stop trying to involve me. I. Don’t. Care.

I have been completely numb to this situation until now. Now, I’m adamantly not advocating for either side. I’m going to not care even more than I did before. If I happen to come across a Chick Fil-A and I’m hungry, God forbid (pun intended), I may eat there. If I’m near one and prefer another restaurant when I’m hungry, I won’t.

If I stopped using all the companies that gave funds or were vocal about things I thought were wrong, I’d probably not be able to shop/eat/live. And if I only went to places that agreed with every single thing I believed in, I’d also have trouble surviving.

Can we just chill out for once? Why does everything have to be a controversy?
