I feel bad for the future of journalism in Tennessee when my alma mater’s student-run newspaper begins talking and joking like a sophomore trying to be cool on their Twitter account. I’m sorry, MTSU Sidelines, pictures of pugs with jokes is not news — nor do I think it makes any sense for you to be tweeting about them.
What’s worse is that this new “voice” on their Twitter account reflects the completely inane cover stories that show up in the paper.
What has happened to the paper I once redesigned in college that won several awards for collegiate journalistic excellence during that time?
